01 — CONTEXT

From discount destination to fashion proposition

Love the Sales had built a substantial fashion marketplace around off-price discovery, connecting shoppers with products from hundreds of brands and retail partners.

But the name and established proposition increasingly anchored the business to “sales” at a point when its ambition had moved beyond discount aggregation.

The next chapter required more than a visual rebrand. It meant defining what the business could credibly stand for, how it should differentiate in a crowded fashion-commerce landscape, and how that positioning could translate across the customer proposition, communications and launch.

02 — STRATEGIC SHIFT

Luxury, unlocked.

The strategic shift reframed value away from discount alone and towards access.

THECODE would retain the commercial strength of its marketplace model while presenting a more distinctive reason to engage: access to premium and luxury fashion, insider prices, pre-sale opportunities and discovery across a broad network of brands and retail partners.

The move created space for a more editorial, fashion-aware identity without losing the price advantage at the heart of the business.

03 — PROPOSITION

Building the proposition around access

The work connected brand strategy with commercial and marketing execution.

The proposition was sharpened around a simple strategic idea: THECODE gives customers access to fashion advantages normally associated with being closer to the industry — from insider pricing and pre-sale access to discovery across an extensive network of brands and retailers.

That idea became a filter for messaging, tone of voice, customer communications, PR narratives, launch planning and the wider marketing ecosystem.

Rather than treating the rebrand as a standalone identity exercise, the work considered how the new positioning needed to behave across acquisition, CRM, social, partnerships, PR, product and customer experience.

POSITIONING Move the centre of gravity from “sales” towards access, discovery and insider advantage.

PROPOSITION Connect breadth, price and retailer relationships into a clearer customer reason to choose THECODE.

NARRATIVE Build a consistent language system across brand, customer, retailer and launch communications.

ACTIVATION Translate the strategic direction into launch planning and the day-to-day marketing ecosystem.

04 — ACTIVATION

Making the strategy operational

The repositioning was carried through the practical marketing infrastructure required to launch and grow the new brand.

This included customer and retailer messaging, tone-of-voice guidance, launch narratives, PR direction, CRM and lifecycle thinking, social planning, performance marketing, partnership communications and coordination with creative, technology and external specialists.

The result was not simply a new name applied to the existing business, but a strategic framework for presenting the platform differently across the customer journey.

05 — OUTCOME

A new platform for the next stage of growth

THECODE launched in August 2026 as the evolution of Love the Sales, introducing a new identity and a more premium, access-led proposition.

The work established the strategic and marketing foundations for the transition: a clearer positioning, an articulated customer proposition, a consistent narrative system and a go-to-market framework capable of carrying the new brand across channels.

Led marketing and brand strategy in-house as Head of Marketing, working across positioning, proposition, messaging and go-to-market, and coordinating delivery across internal teams and external creative and communications partners.
